Our teams are comprised of professionals who bring a unique perspective based on their training and experience across many disciplines. Most of our professionals have advanced degrees in economics, statistics, finance, and business management.

Burton Malkiel
Professor Malkiel, is the Chemical Bank Chairman’s Professor of Economics, Emeritus at Princeton University. He served as a member of the Council of Economic Advisers (1975–1977), president of the American Finance Association (1978), and dean of the Yale School of Management (1981–1988). He is the author of the international best-seller A Random Walk Down Wall Street. He spent 28 years as a director of the Vanguard Group and currently serves as Chief Investment Officer to software-based financial advisor, Wealthfront Inc. and as a member of the Investment Advisory Board for Rebalance IRA.

Bruce Mizrach
Bruce Mizrach is a professor of economics at Rutgers University. He has published widely on topics in macroeconomics and finance, ranging from credit default swaps to carbon trading. Among his more than 50 published manuscripts are articles in the Journal of Monetary Economics, the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking and Quantitative Finance. His research on risks in the subprime housing derivatives market was awarded the Inquire Group first prize in 2008. His expertise ranges from market microstructure, HFT strategy and hedging, data scraping, and Twitter and other social media sentiment analysis for alpha generation.

Joel Finard
Joel Finard has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. During that time, he has consulted to the financial services industry in the areas of structured finance transactions and risk management; worked on the trading desks of major banks; structured and executed structured finance transactions and risk management strategies; managed money at a large insurance company; provided expert testimony in complex financial services litigation; and taught economics at the graduate level. Mr. Finard has been qualified and testified as an expert in US Tax Court, Canadian Tax Court, US Court of Federal Claims, and multiple US District Courts.

Alberto Dorantes
Dr. Dorantes is a research professor at Monterrey Tech, Querétaro. He has a Ph.D. in Business from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He has more than 20 years of experience in software engineering, IT projects, teaching and business consulting. He teaches courses in financial econometrics and business analytics. Professor Dorantes has published several papers on the impact of security breaches on firm performance and has presented papers at numerous conferences including the American Accounting Association and the Americas Conference on Information Systems. His expertise also includes setting up and maintaining cloud computing systems.

Mehmet Yanilmaz
Mehmet advises exchanges, OTC platforms, finance software vendors, regulatory bodies about matching engines, real-time risk management, market microstructure dynamics, algorithmic execution, trading strategies. He serves as expert witness on these topics. He testified in cases involving IP theft, violation of employment contracts, corporate valuations and determination of reasonable royalties. He taught engineering and business at Northwestern University, and computer science at the University of Chicago. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University.

Guillermo Courtney
Guillermo Courtney has more than 20 years of industry experience. He has worked at Nielsen and Kellogg Company, Mexico in managerial positions related to marketing, shopper insights, pricing, business intelligence and go-to-market strategies.
