Atanu Saha is the Chairman of Data Science Partners. He has over 20 years of experience in the area of litigation and business consulting. He specializes in the application of economics and finance to complex business issues, with a focus on data analysis.
In the area of litigation consulting, he has provided expert testimony in numerous securities matters, involving securities fraud, market manipulation, and 10b-5 claims; he has also served as an expert witness in matters involving antitrust issues, patent disputes, valuation of investment portfolios, and commercial damages. Dr. Saha’s research in the area of securities litigation has been cited by the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.
In the area of data analytics, Dr. Saha has undertaken various consulting engagements involving analyses of large and complex business datasets to discern patterns and predict trends. He has considerable expertise in the pharmaceutical, energy and financial industries, having provided consulting services for various corporations and multinational businesses.
Prior to co-founding Data Science Partners, Dr. Saha held senior positions at other consulting firms. Additionally, he was a tenure-track professor for four years at Texas A&M University where he taught Ph.D.-level courses in econometrics and applied economics. Dr. Saha is the author of numerous refereed journal articles, monographs and book chapters. His research has been cited in various publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, and The New York Times. He is the recipient of the prestigious Graham and Dodd Award for financial research. Dr. Saha holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis, and an M.A. from the University of Alberta, Canada.
Alexander Rinaudo is the Chief Executive of Data Science Partners. He has over 15 years of experience bringing together academic research, industry experts and legal counsel to develop economic and financial analysis for complex business issues.
Mr. Rinaudo has developed analyses for matters involving business valuation, trading strategies, alternative investment valuation, securities fraud, market timing and portfolio valuation. Mr. Rinaudo has extensive expertise in financial, econometric and statistical analyses, methods he has used to analyze a wide variety of financial products and their markets including equities, options, treasuries, fixed income and structured products.
In the area of data analytics, Mr. Rinaudo has utilized his experience with various programming languages which he has used to analyze a range of different types of data including exchange level order book data, SEC filings, pharmaceutical sales data and internal corporate records.
In the area of litigation consulting, Mr. Rinaudo has provided expert testimony on financial market dynamics. He has also supported experts and clients through all phases of pretrial and trial practice including review of pretrial discovery, development of economic and financial models to analyze damages, critique of analyses by opposing experts and preparation of testimony. He has experience in a broad range of venues including federal trials, regulatory proceedings, settlement negotiations, mediations, arbitrations and bankruptcy proceedings.
Mr. Rinaudo is the author of several refereed journal articles and holds an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University and a BS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
